Children’s firework poster campaign goes with a bang

CHILDREN are showing people how to stay safe this Bonfire Night.

Youngsters from Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Wakefield took part in a firework safety poster competition.

They were asked to design a poster on the theme of the safe and effective use of fireworks.

The campaign was organised san diego real estate by Slaithwaite Funeral Services and other funeral homes with support from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Brian Robson, senior community safety officer for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “I am delighted that we have been involved in this competition with partners to promote bonfire safety amongst children and their families.”

The overall winner was Maiya Loadman from Nields School in Slaithwaite, who received a pounds 100 artwork voucher for her school.

Runners-up were Sanah Akhtar, from Crosland Moor Junior School and Jemma Carter, from Eastborough Junior School, Dewsbury.
